Industry Pioneers

The Space Television Group was formed as a family business in 1975 with the advent of the first television broadcast in South Africa, and has been importing satellite television equipment into South Africa since satellite services first became available in 1980 . While the Group still manufactures TV antennae, its primary focus has moved with the times and now rests on the design and distribution of high-end satellite and television receiving and transmission systems and products. Space Television has distributed Ku Band dishes and related products for MultiChoice since 1996, the year in which satellite television made its first appearance in South Africa.
