Industry Pioneers
The Space Television Group was formed as a family business in 1975 with the advent of the first television broadcast in South Africa, and has been importing satellite television equipment into South Africa since satellite services first became available in 1980 (3-4 metre C Band dishes). While the Group still manufactures TV antennae, its primary focus has moved with the times and now rests on the design and distribution of high-end satellite and television receiving systems and products. Space Television has distributed Ku Band dishes and related products for MultiChoice since 1996, the year in which satellite television made its first appearance in South Africa.
While our industry experience has allowed us to garner unmatched expertise and build up a comprehensive network of approved and recommended installers, we strive to offer our clients the latest in technology at affordable prices. To this end we are constantly updating our knowledge and establishing trade contacts. Space Television representatives attend all major trade shows, including the leading global showcases for Satellite and CCTV products.
Space Television remains a family business and prides itself on its friendly, responsible and personable dealings with clients. The Group currently has a staff complement of 122 countrywide.

Space Television is the largest and fastest growing player in its field in South Africa and Africa and services all of MultiChoice’s requirements throughout Africa.

We have offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town(Woodstock),Cape Town(Brackenfell), Durban, East London,Randburg, Pretoria and Port Elizabeth, all of which work closely together to ensure an uninterrupted service to our clients, wherever they may be. Our Johannesburg and Cape Town offices deal with all our exports to the rest of Africa.
Country-wide Installation Network
Over the many years that we have been in business we have developed a comprehensive database of approved and recommended installers throughout South Africa and the rest of the continent. When requested to do so by a client we will gladly recommend a suitable installer, taking into account the geographical location and price-sensitivity of the client, and we will then stand as the principal in the relationship between the client and the installer.
This means that should there be any installation or maintenance difficulties falling with our warranty, the client will be empowered to deal exclusively with Space Television and we will take on the responsibility of ensuring that any problems covered by the warranty are effectively and efficiently remedied.
