A Conditional Access Module or CAM is essentially a device that un-encrypts (unscrambles or decodes) encrypted Satellite Television signals.
Satellite TV services such as MultiChoice DStv are encrypted to ensure that only people with an authorised subscription card, can receive their services.CAM02’s are for use in integrated commercial headend systems that make provision for CI slots.
Activation of SmartCards in CAM02’s subject to MultiChoice approval of system installed.
Note:CAM02’s distributed by Space Television on behalf of MultiChoice are for use within the borders of South Africa only and may not be sold to export customers or to local customers intending to use the units for cross border projects.
CAM’s required for cross border projects must be obtained from MultiChoice Africa directly.
CAM02’s are for commercial use, in MultiChoice approved Systems only.
CAM02’s are NOT FOR DOMESTIC USE, and may not be used in television sets with integrated CI Slots.
